We've said it before, and we'll say it again: MoonSwatch never dies. Almost a month ago, and almost a year after the original MoonSwatch launch, Swatch let loose yet another celestially-themed model into the universe: The Mission to Moonshine Gold. While the naming convention didn't come across quite as smooth as those with actual planetary objects – it did cause a stir yet again. And now, it's back…again, for one day only…again. To rewind, the Moonshine MoonSwatch was effectively (okay, literally) a Mission to the Moon with a chronograph hand coated in Moonshine Gold (Omega's proprietary gold material). When it was launched a few weeks back on March 7, you could only purchase it at select locations around the world on that very time, and only in person. MoonSwatch is not made for internet. But Swatch did tease that we might see more on the next full moon. And - well - here we are.
Swatch recently announced this morning on Instagram that the Objective to Moonshine Gold is bound for 14 new cities including our home team of New York (at the actual Swatch Times Square location). On April 6, and they only on Apr 6, in varying evening times (7: 00 PM HOURS in NYC for example), this special edition will once again be made available to the queuing public.
The actual timing of the release likely means that few, if any, will need to camp out overnight - but who am I to say what you can as well as cannot do? When I covered the MoonSwatch launch in Times Square last year, the cloths line measured something similar to four city blocks in length. It will be interesting to see what a MoonSwatch line at rush hour within Times Sq . looks like (and you better believe we'll be there to find out).
The particular Mission in order to Moonshine Precious metal will set the with consideration waiting back $285 (plus tax) and that we currently don't have word as to just how much supply the myriad Sample locations will have. So get to yours early, because you just dont know how mad the MoonSwatch madness will be.
